India have taken a 2-1 lead against England in their Pool D match of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2026 on Monday evening in Bhubaneswar. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored a superb goal to level the scores after England took the lead in the first quarter, according to NDTV Sports. The Indian team then completed a comeback to go ahead, with one England goal being disallowed. India had started their campaign with a win over Wales, where Harmanpreet scored a brace. England thrashed Pakistan 4-1 in their opener, as reported by NDTV Profit. The match is being telecast live on Star Sports Select 2, Star Sports Khel, and DD Sports, and streamed on JioHotstar with English and Hindi commentary, Sportstar reports. India have a 32-year-old unwanted record against England in the World Cup, which they are seeking to break with this performance.
