# India Post Uses Drone For First National Flag Delivery

On the eve of Independence Day, India Post flew a drone carrying the national flag from Mandi to Rehardhar in Himachal Pradesh, the first such delivery by the postal department. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually launched the flight. An army veteran formally received the flag at the Rehardhar branch post office. The Department of Posts has planned drone-based mail transmission on 150 routes in Himachal Pradesh and Assam to improve last-mile connectivity in difficult terrain. The initiative supports the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and reflects the ‘Dak Sewa, Jan Sewa’ ethos, according to an official release.
