# India U-15 coach Bibiano Fernandes sets vision for FIFA World Cup 2026-10-16T14:26:37+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets India U-15 head coach Bibiano Fernandes has outlined his team's goals ahead of the FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan, from October 22 to 31. The Blue Colts, placed in Group K alongside Bahrain, Cameroon, Grenada, Laos and Senegal, begin their campaign against Laos on October 24 at the Hovsan Competition Complex. Fernandes emphasised developing a strong footballing foundation, tactical flexibility and good character. 'We want the players to establish a clear idea of the way we are going to play both in and out of possession. Our objective is to develop a team that is brave in possession, aggressive in defending, disciplined,' he told the AIFF. He added that character is as important as talent. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Khel Now and Rediff (via PTI) reported Fernandes's remarks from the AIFF interview, producing uniform, neutral wire-style coverage. Neither outlet added independent commentary, differing only in structure: Khel Now led with a longer narrative on Fernandes's philosophy, while Rediff condensed the same quotes into a bullet-point summary. The balanced reading is that Fernandes's stated priorities, tactical identity, adaptability, and character development, are uncontested in the reporting, leaving the tournament itself as the next concrete test of those aims. India play Laos on October 24. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - khelnow.com (neutral report) Straight news report of Fernandes's AIFF quotes, no slant. - rediff.com (neutral report) Wire copy from PTI, condensed without added framing.
