# Indian-origin teen becomes world’s youngest male CA at 16 2026-08-17T15:18:27+00:00 | World & Diplomacy | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Lakshmanan Meyyappan, an Indian-origin finance professional, has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's youngest male Chartered Accountant. He completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification in Dubai on June 30, 2021, at the age of 16 years and 141 days. Meyyappan began preparing for the ACCA at age 15, after finishing his Class 10 board exams during the Covid-19 pandemic. His mother, also an ACCA professional, introduced him to accounting during the lockdown. He later obtained the CFA charter and is now pursuing an MSc in Finance. He works as a Senior Research Analyst at Century Financial in Dubai. The Guinness record applies to the ACCA qualification, distinct from the Indian CA offered by ICAI, reports freepressjournal.in. Meyyappan, who also designs watches as a hobby, said he never approached qualifications as a race. 'When learning is driven by curiosity rather than speed, the outcome is far more meaningful,' he told Khaleej Times. ## Coverage - freepressjournal.in - livemint.com This story was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above.
