– Average monthly data consumption per user in India reached 27.5 GB in 2024,with a 19.5% CAGR growth over five years; expected to touch 50 GB by 2030.
– Total mobile subscribers surpassed 1 billion, out of which 900 million are data subscribers, comprising 613 million on 4G and 219 million on 5G.
– projected to have 770 million active 5G subscribers,with an annual addition of about 120 million new users.
- On average, a single indian user on 5G consumes around 40 GB of data per month, with Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) contributing to about a quarter of this usage. FWA users consume over 12 times more data than regular mobile users.
- Nationwide, average monthly traffic for all broadband is now at roughly 21.5 exabytes/month for the year-end duration analyzed in december ’24, driven primarily by smaller towns or Category B/C cellular regions now showing triple-digit adoption upticks matching their rates!!
