India’s economy remained resilient in 2025-26 despite global shocks, but risks from geopolitics and volatile capital flows persist, SEBI said in its annual report. Real GDP growth stood at 7.7%, while the fiscal deficit fell from 9.2% to 4.4%, CEA V Anantha Nageswaran told an Assocham event. DEA secretary Anuradha Thakur said private investment is now on a steady trajectory, with project announcements averaging Rs 34.8 lakh crore between 2024 and 2026. However, SEBI noted record FPI equity outflows of $19.7 billion and a 14% decline in the Nifty in dollar terms, warning that crude above $100 could widen the current account deficit.
