# India’s pharma exports rise 6.8% to $8.1bn in Q1

India’s pharmaceutical exports grew 6.8% year-on-year to $8.1 billion in the first quarter ended June, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) said. Drug formulations and biologicals, the largest category, rose 4.14% to $5.98 billion, making up 73.85% of total exports. Bulk drugs and drug intermediates grew 13.84% to $1.36 billion, vaccine exports jumped 35.68% to $0.39 billion, and surgical products rose 11.95% to $0.21 billion. The US remained the top destination with $2.50 billion exports (30.89% share), followed by Brazil, the UK, the Netherlands and France. The top 25 destinations accounted for 70% of exports.
