# Indore adds four fire bikes for narrow-lane emergencies

Indore Municipal Corporation has inducted four compact fire bikes to help crews reach congested areas where large fire tenders may be delayed. The bikes were brought to Laxmibai Nagar Fire Station under directions from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Municipal commissioner Kshitij Singhal inspected the units on Thursday. Each bike can carry up to 40 litres of water and 4 litres of foam, and can draw water from borewells or other sources near an incident. The vehicles are intended for small and medium fires in crowded areas such as Chhappan Dukan and Sarafa Bazaar. Fire personnel are undergoing specialised training before the bikes are formally dedicated for public use.
