# Indore Police Plan AI Cameras, Shakti Patrols for Navratri, Match 2026-10-09T20:41:40+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Indore police commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh reviewed security plans for the Navratri festival and the India-West Indies cricket match at Holkar Stadium on Sunday, 11 October. The meeting was attended by additional commissioners RK Singh and Mayank Awasthi along with DCPs and inspectors. For Navratri, police will deploy AI-enabled facial recognition cameras at temples and high-footfall zones to track known offenders. Organisers of Garba events must obtain permits, install CCTVs, ensure fire safety and emergency exits, and use breath analysers at gates. Dedicated Shakti Mobile units will patrol venues and markets. Social media will be monitored for rumours. For the cricket match, comprehensive security will cover players and spectators, with traffic diversions and designated parking zones announced. The CP ordered zero tolerance for negligence on safety and traffic. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The measures put the onus on event organisers to meet safety requirements, shifting some crowd-control cost from the police to private entities. AI cameras aim to deter known offenders but their effectiveness depends on real-time monitoring capacity. The police have not said how many Shakti Mobile units will patrol or which areas will face diversions on match day. Officers must personally review arrangements in their jurisdictions before 11 October, and any gaps will emerge during that internal scrutiny. ## Coverage - freepressjournal.in Straight factual listing of police directives without comment or evaluation This brief was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
