Iran's Revolutionary Court has sentenced photojournalist Yalda Moaiery to 15 years in prison, her third jail term for journalism. The court acted under a 2025 law passed after the Iran-Israel conflict, which Tehran says targets espionage and cooperation with hostile states. Moaiery told Reuters she provided CNN with images of damage from US air strikes on Iran and gave an interview in March 2026. A handwritten charge sheet, copied by a friend, accuses her of speaking to hostile media and sharing photos with US- and Israel-linked organisations. She was not given official documents. Moaiery has 10 days to appeal.
