# Iran promises footage of supreme leader amid health rumours

Iranian state media says President Masoud Pezeshkian met Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in late July, but conflicting accounts about the president's access to him have deepened speculation over the leader's health. Khamenei has not been seen publicly since he succeeded his father in March. A deputy of the Basij Organisation, Qasem Qoraishi, has promised future footage showing Khamenei among the public and with military commanders, in an apparent bid to counter rumours. Senior Iranian sources told outlets that Khamenei was injured in the February 28 strike that killed his father. A report citing sources close to the president's administration said officials would not be surprised if Khamenei died soon.
