Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon killed at least seven people and wounded three early on August 15, according to Lebanon’s state news agency, in one of the deadliest attacks since a truce with Hezbollah began on June 20. The strike hit a home near Ansar, while paramedics searched the rubble. Airstrikes also hit Ali Taher hill near Nabatiyeh. Times Now News, citing Lebanon’s Health Ministry and state media, reported a higher toll of 11 dead and 19 wounded after a second strike on Deir al-Zahrani. Israel said it struck Hezbollah infrastructure after an action against its soldiers. The truce framework requires Hezbollah’s disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal, but fighting and negotiations continue.
