ISRO conducted a hot test of a semi-cryogenic engine power head on 24 June at its Propulsion Complex in Tamil Nadu. The system operated steadily at 175 tons of thrust, about 88% of its 200-ton target. Earlier tests reached 47% and 60% thrust. ISRO said the result supports plans for a full-thrust demonstration. The engine is intended to replace the L110 core stage of the LVM3 rocket. The 2,000-kilonewton SE2000 engine will use liquid oxygen and kerosene-based fuel. ISRO expects higher payload capacity and better efficiency, but further testing and flight certification are still needed.
