The move aims to address a shortage of paramedics and create jobs. Itoo spoke after inaugurating a CT scan machine at SMGS Hospital in Jammu, which cost Rs 8.30 crore. Itoo said the government has already appointed about 900 new doctors, with 500 receiving letters from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Another 400, selected through the JKPSC, will be posted to remote areas after CID verification. An MRI machine for SMGS Hospital is expected in two to three months.
