Devdutt Padikkal struck a fine century (103) and Ravindra Jadeja made 63 as India reached 284 for six on Day 2 of the three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI in Colombo. After Padikkal retired out following his hundred, Jadeja also walked off, allowing the lower order to spend time in the middle. Manav Suthar contributed 41 before falling leg-before. Rishabh Pant (2) and Dhruv Jurel (1) departed cheaply. The management used the day to give extra batting to bowlers, with Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj also batting. India now trail by 113 runs with two days left before the Test series starting August 15.
