# Ex-MP Prajwal Revanna caught with phone in Bengaluru jail

Former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, serving life for rape, was found with an Android mobile phone, pen drive, charger and diary during a Central Crime Branch raid at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on August 11. The Times of India and The Hindu report that an assistant superintendent has been suspended and a show-cause notice issued to the prison superintendent. A fresh FIR under the Karnataka Prisons Act has been registered against Revanna and undertrial Prathap Rai. The Hindu adds that the phone contained Facebook, WhatsApp, Netflix and Prime Video, but both inmates claimed ignorance of the passwords. Prison authorities are examining CCTV footage to determine how the contraband entered the high-security facility.
