# Jailer 2 breaks records, Allu Arjun, Sasikumar praise Rajinikanth 2026-10-22T16:27:19+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Jailer 2’, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and released on 15 October, has earned over Rs 500 crore globally in its first week, according to the film’s team. Dinamani reported actor Sasikumar congratulated the team and said ‘our Murthy anna has sent a car parcel to Namo’, while Hindutamil reported Telugu star Allu Arjun praised Rajinikanth’s ‘star power, swag and aura’ and noted the film ‘coolly collected Rs 500 crore without creasing its clothes’. Dailythanthi reported that the film collected Rs 549 crore in seven days and is expected to cross Rs 1,000 crore soon. The film features an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Sivrajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Vijay Sethupathi, with music by Anirudh and production by Sun Pictures. ## Indian Opinion Analysis All three sources uniformly report the box-office success of ‘Jailer 2’, but they differ on the specific figure: Dinamani says over Rs 500 crore globally, Dailythanthi cites Rs 549 crore in seven days, and Hindutamil reports Rs 600 crore in its first weekend. This discrepancy likely reflects different reporting cut-offs or data updates. The coverage is otherwise celebratory, with Dinamani and Hindutamil leading with star praise, Sasikumar and Allu Arjun, while Dailythanthi leads with the collection figure and cast details. The balanced reading is that the film is a major commercial hit, with multiple credible figures all showing strong performance, and attention now turns to whether it will hit the Rs 1,000-crore milestone that Dailythanthi mentions as an expectation. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 3 neutral - dinamani.com (neutral report) Reports box office and Sasikumar's post, no slant. - dailythanthi.com (neutral report) Straight reporting on collection figure and cast. - hindutamil.in (neutral report) Leads with Allu Arjun's praise, but no bias.
