# Jailer 2 celebration video hints Santhanam role amid cut rumours 2026-10-24T12:31:16+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets A celebration video from the sets of ‘Jailer 2’ has surfaced on social media, showing actor Santhanam alongside Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar, S.J. Suryah and Vidyapalan. The clip has fuelled fan speculation that Santhanam acted in the film, amid rumours his scenes were removed for length. Dinamani reports that ‘Jailer 2’ was released on 15 October. The film, starring Rajinikanth, has grossed about Rs 600 crore in its first eight days, according to the outlet. Hindu Tamil reports the film has earned Rs 628.05 crore globally in nine days, surpassing the total lifetime collection of ‘Jailer’ (Rs 604.74 crore), and becoming the fourth Tamil film to cross Rs 600 crore after ‘2.0’, ‘Leo’ and ‘Jailer’. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Dinamani focuses on the viral video and the Santhanam scene-removal rumour, framing it as a fan-driven curiosity. Hindu Tamil ignores the controversy entirely and instead leads with Rajinikanth watching the film with fans after 40 years, and box-office figures that show ‘Jailer 2’ beating the original. The two outlets cover the same release but address different audiences: one leans into gossip and speculation, the other into commercial achievement and star fan service. The unified figure is that the film is a clear hit, crossing Rs 600 crore. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - dinamani.com (sensationalist) Leads with Santhanam video and removal rumour - hindutamil.in (neutral report) Straight box-office update with fan-event angle This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
