Yashasvi Jaiswal has recalled a viral Rohit Sharma dressing-room moment in an Instagram post as India train for their two-Test series against Sri Lanka. Sharing pictures from a close-in fielding session, Jaiswal wrote, “Because once a legend said, ‘jab tak khelega nahi, tab tak uthneka nahi’.” The post referred to the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, when Jaiswal briefly stood up at forward silly point before Steve Smith completed a shot. Rohit, then India’s captain, was heard on the stump microphone telling him to stay down until the ball was played. The Times of India reports that India’s Shubman Gill-led team has begun training in Colombo. Jaiswal is expected to open with KL Rahul in the first Test at Galle on August 15.
