# Jharkhand candidates protest JSSC CGL exam cancellation 2026-08-17T23:44:47+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets (22 source reports) Candidates who cleared the JSSC CGL exam protested outside the Project Bhawan in Ranchi on August 17 against the Jharkhand government's decision to cancel the exam. One candidate said the government's decision left him on the streets and accused it of disrespecting the court's order. The protestors demanded the government reverse its decision and said they would go back to court if needed. Chief Minister Hemant Soren had earlier announced the cancellation of the JSSC CGL exam and all tests conducted by agency TDPL. The government also ordered a CID probe into alleged irregularities in all recruitment exams since 2014. The protestors said they had secured appointments after a High Court division bench verdict that was upheld by the Supreme Court. "We became unemployed in one stroke," one candidate said, appealing to the CM to reconsider. Aaj Tak reported that the candidates said their appointments were through a fair process and demanded that only guilty individuals be punished if any wrongdoing is found. Hundreds had left their previous jobs to join these appointments, they said, questioning their future now. The protestors said they had earlier achieved this outcome through the courts and would approach them again. ## Coverage - aajtak.in - 123telugu.com - 123telugu.com (2) - 123telugu.com (3) - tupaki.com - tupaki.com (2) - tupaki.com (3) - tupaki.com (4) - tupaki.com (5) - tupaki.com (6) - tupaki.com (7) - tupaki.com (8) - tupaki.com (9) - tupaki.com (10) - tupaki.com (11) - tupaki.com (12) - tupaki.com (13) - tupaki.com (14) - tupaki.com (15) - tupaki.com (16) - tupaki.com (17) - tupaki.com (18) This story was synthesised by AI from the 22 sources linked above.
