# Jharkhand cancels JPSC exam but students firm on CBI probe

The Jharkhand government has cancelled the 14th JPSC preliminary exam and backlog exams from 2023 and 2025 after 16 days of protests. But students demanding a CBI probe into the JSSC-CGL exam say the government's claim of meeting 98 per cent of demands is false. Three JPSC members resigned after being summoned by the CID. The government has promised CID and ED probes, fast-track courts, and an expert panel on reforms. Student leaders have rejected a retired-judge panel and plan to march on the assembly on August 10. Ranchi police say they are prepared but will only act if protests turn violent. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has launched a portal for student suggestions and warned against politicising the agitation.
