# Jharkhand holds talks with protesting students, promises reforms

Jharkhand ministers met a 10-member student delegation at the State Guest House in Ranchi on Friday to discuss demands over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment exams. The delegation included student leaders Ravindra Paswan, Piyush Kumar Singh and Neetu Kujur. Ministers Sudivya Kumar, Deepika Pandey Singh, Chamra Linda and Sanjay Prasad Yadav represented the government, with the Ranchi deputy commissioner and SSP also present. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the government was ready to hold talks and would move forward with strong reforms based on student demands. The students have demanded cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination and an independent probe by the CBI or a panel of retired high court judges from outside the state. Piyush Kumar Singh said the discussion was positive but the protest would continue until more rounds of talks. The agitation entered Day 14 on Friday, with six protesters on hunger strike.
