# Jharkhand students breach barricades in massive assembly march

Thousands of Jharkhand job aspirants breached barbed-wire barricades and faced water cannons on Monday as they marched to the state assembly in Ranchi, demanding a CBI probe into recruitment exam irregularities. The protest entered its 17th day, with six students on hunger strike. Police had imposed prohibitory orders within a 750-metre radius of the Vidhan Sabha. The Hemant Soren government says it accepted 98 per cent of demands, including cancellation of the 14th JPSC exam. But the students insist only three of 13 sought exams have been scrapped and refuse to drop the agitation without a CBI probe into the JSSC-CGL exam. The Enforcement Directorate has registered a money-laundering case. All three JPSC members resigned after the CID summoned them.
