# Jharkhand exams row: protester on hunger strike hospitalised 2026-08-07T12:07:12+00:00 | Politics | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet A student leader Rahul Kranti on hunger strike over alleged irregularities in Jharkhand recruitment exams was admitted to Ranchi Sadar Hospital on Friday after his health worsened. The protest entered its 14th day, with students demanding cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination, an independent probe into irregularities by CBI or outside High Court judges, and reforms in JPSC and JSSC. Six protesters are on indefinite fast since Tuesday night. Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi and other BJP leaders, as well as Health Minister Irfan Ansari acting on CM Hemant Soren's orders, visited the hospital. Ansari said the students' health is the government's top priority. Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who recently concluded a 26-day hunger strike over NEET paper leak, called JPSC protester Devendra Nath Mahto and convinced him to drink water.
