# JioGames launches Cricket 26 with Pro Pass plans from Rs 48 2026-10-05T17:56:46+00:00 | Technology | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets JioGames has brought Cricket 26, the official game of the Ashes, to India through its cloud gaming Pro Pass subscription. The game can be streamed on phones, browsers, TVs and Jio set-top boxes without dedicated gaming hardware. Non-Jio users can access Pro Pass plans starting at Rs 48, with other options at Rs 98 and Rs 398. Jio users get a Rs 100 discount on eligible plans, bringing some plans to Rs 298. Cricket 26 includes Management Career, an expanded Ashes mode, Pro Team, multiplayer and an Academy creation suite. The cloud gaming model lets users stream the title without a separate purchase. News9live notes that actual gaming experience depends on internet speed and connection stability. Players can access the game via Chrome on desktops, the JioGames app on Android and iOS, Jio set-top boxes and Android TV. JioGames is also offering a one-year Pro Pass bundle with a gaming controller. The launch adds a premium licensed cricket title to JioGames' catalogue as cloud gaming platforms compete for Indian subscribers. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both sources present the Cricket 26 launch as straight product news, leading with availability, pricing and device compatibility. The Economic Times focuses on Jio-specific perks and the discount structure, framing the subscription model as a positive shift from traditional hardware purchases. News9live adds a caveat that cloud gaming quality depends on internet speed and latency, a detail the other source omits. This is uniform neutral-report coverage of a commercial announcement, with no government or political angle. The next step is the game's immediate availability for streaming across platforms from 5 October 2026. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - economictimes.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Leads with pricing and Jio benefits, no caveats on performance - news9live.com (neutral report) Adds technical caveat on internet speed and latency This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
