Sharma, who holds the Transport portfolio among others, said Mahajan’s conduct had compromised orderly administration and that he had exhausted other remedies, The Hindu reports. The clash is the latest between the elected government and the L-G administration over transfer of officials, a persistent friction since the elected government took over in October 2024. Mahajan, who was posted as Transport Commissioner by the L-G in December 2024, had earlier been the subject of objections by the Omar Abdullah government when he was moved to the Tourism department.
