Vice-Chancellor Prof H Sudarsana Rao announced the achievement on 31 July 2026, noting that JNTUA placed among the top 50 national institutions based on ten performance indicators. The rankings evaluated renewable energy, green buildings, decarbonisation, greywater reuse, waste segregation, plastic bans and sustainability courses.
