Josh Hazlewood became the ninth Australian bowler to take 300 Test wickets during the first Test against Bangladesh in Darwin on Saturday. He reached the mark by dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz and finished Bangladesh’s first innings with six wickets, including Ebadot Hossain. It was his 14th five-wicket haul and first six-wicket innings since 2016. Bangladesh were dismissed for 426, securing a 228-run first-innings lead over Australia, according to The Times of India. Tanzid Hasan scored a maiden Test century, while Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy made half-centuries. Australia also dropped five catches. Hazlewood’s career average is 24.02, bettered among Australia’s 300-wicket bowlers only by Glenn McGrath, Pat Cummins and Dennis Lillee.
