# Jammu power employees call off strike after suspensions revoked

Jammu and Kashmir Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee (JKPEECC) called off its indefinite strike on Friday after the JPDCL management revoked the suspension of six employees during post-midnight negotiations. A memorandum of agreement on a nine-point charter of demands was signed at around 1.45 am, led by MD Gurpal Singh and committee convenor Sachin Tickoo. The suspensions, of two linemen, two meter-readers, a junior engineer and an assistant engineer, were revoked and show-cause notices kept in abeyance. Salaries withheld in June and July under the PM Surya Ghar scheme have also been released. The management agreed to frame a comprehensive SOP for damaged meters within a month and to pursue FIRs in power theft cases under the Electricity Act.
