JPMorgan Chase notified prediction-market platform Polymarket in October that it needed to find a new bank, the Financial Times reported, citing unnamed sources. The bank terminated the relationship over regulatory concerns, but retains other ties including a possible underwriting role if Polymarket goes public. Polymarket now works with a different lender, the FT said, without naming it. Polymarket’s spokesperson said the company maintains a “close, active relationship” with JPMorgan across multiple entities and called any suggestion otherwise a mischaracterisation. JPMorgan declined to comment. The prediction market industry has grown into a multi-billion dollar sector, with sports wagers at the centre of a regulatory fight.
