# Plea in Supreme Court seeks JPSC exam cancellation, CBI probe

The alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) preliminary examination have reached the Supreme Court. A Public Interest Litigation filed by social worker Harisharan Devgan seeks cancellation of the exam, a fresh test under court-supervised security, and a CBI investigation. The petition also demands an independent committee of retired judges from outside Jharkhand and preservation of all OMR sheets, CCTV footage and digital records. The row erupted on July 2 after a successful candidate’s OMR carbon copy went viral, he had attempted only 48 out of 100 questions in Paper I. Student protests have continued in Ranchi since July 25 despite a state-ordered CID probe.
