Lord Shani is one of the most powerful planets as he is the son of Lord Surya and Mata Chhaya. He gives the reward or punishment according to the life’s action of a person.

On this specific day, a diya with mustard oil must be lit beneath a peepal tree, and the mantra “Om Sham Shanaishcharaye Namah” must be chanted in order to appease Lord Shani.
