# Kalki 2898 AD team celebrates Kamal Haasan birthday with unseen still 2026-11-07T14:17:23+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets On Kamal Haasan's birthday, the team of 'Kalki 2898 AD' released an unseen behind-the-scenes picture of the actor with director Nag Ashwin. The Times of India reports the team called him a 'supreme force of cinema, an inspiration to generations and a true legend'. 123telugu.com notes the still shows Kamal in his Supreme Yaskin avatar. Kamal Haasan played Supreme Yaskin in the first part. Despite limited screen time, his performance impressed audiences. 123telugu.com says the sequel sets up a face-off between Prabhas and Kamal, who will have a full-length role. The Times of India adds the film recently won two National Film Awards: Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Production Design. The Times of India reports Deepika Padukone will not return for the sequel, 123telugu.com states she has been replaced by Sai Pallavi. Both outlets agree the film, backed by Vyjayanthi Movies and starring Amitabh Bachchan, is highly anticipated. 123telugu.com says the second part is expected to take longer than anticipated to arrive. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both sources report the birthday wish with neutral-report framing, but they differ in emphasis. The Times of India leads with the team's celebratory caption and the film's National Film Awards, giving the story a laurels-focused tone. 123telugu.com instead highlights the sequel's plot direction, a face-off between Prabhas and Kamal, and adds the casting change of Deepika Padukone being replaced by Sai Pallavi, giving it a forward-looking, production-news slant. Neither source is government-critical or pro-government. The coverage is uniform in facts but diverges in what each considers the most newsworthy angle: the first source foregrounds achievement, the second foregrounds future developments. The key open point is the sequel's release timeline, which 123telugu.com says will be longer than expected. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Leads with celebration and awards, no slant - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Leads with sequel plot and casting change, no slant This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
