# Kamal Haasan-SU Arun Kumar film likely titled Sandiyar, first look on his birthday 2026-10-25T02:36:11+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Tamil actor Kamal Haasan's upcoming collaboration with director SU Arun Kumar is reportedly titled 'Sandiyar', according to Valai Pechu. The project is expected to be a gritty action entertainer, with a photoshoot already completed and shooting likely to begin in November. The makers have not officially confirmed the title or schedule. The first-look poster and stills may be released on Kamal Haasan's birthday, 7 November. The film is said to be shot entirely in Madurai for a rooted feel, with the actor sporting a short-haired look and avoiding CGI de-aging or dance sequences. A middle-aged actress is reportedly being considered for the female lead. Kamal Haasan was last seen in Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life'. He also has 'KHxRK' with Rajinikanth, 'Kalki 2', and 'Indian 3' in the pipeline. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Pinkvilla and Times of India rely on the same Valai Pechu report and present the title 'Sandiyar' and the birthday first-look plan as unconfirmed rumours. Neither outlet adds independent verification or a sceptical framing. Their coverage is uniform, straight reporting from a single unnamed source, with identical caveats that the makers have not confirmed anything. The difference is negligible: Times of India adds a description of a leaked test-shoot photograph, while Pinkvilla includes a longer list of upcoming projects. The balanced reading is that no new fact has been officially announced, and the news value lies in the rumour itself. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - pinkvilla.com (neutral report) Relays Valai Pechu rumour without scepticism, adds project list - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Straight wire-style report, includes leaked test-shoot photo This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
