# Kangana Ranaut hits back at Baba Ramdev over ‘generation gutter’ remark 2026-08-19T13:31:26+00:00 | India | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has hit back at yoga guru Baba Ramdev after he criticised her controversial 'generation gutter' remark. In a series of Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Ranaut directly referenced Ramdev's past legal trouble with the Supreme Court over misleading advertisements by his company Patanjali in 2024. She wrote, 'Baba ji don't day dream about my jawani or bedroom... At least mujhe kabhi Supreme Court se fatkar nahi lagi for false/fraud efficacy claims.' She added, 'So don't give me character lessons... Tumse toh bahut zyada behtar hai mera character.' The exchange began after Ramdev, when asked about Ranaut's comments describing some young Hindu women as 'generation gutter', questioned her upbringing and called the remark 'a sign of a corrupted mind'. According to an Aaj Tak report cited by both sources, Ramdev said, 'What was her childhood like? What was her youth like? What were her past accomplishments like? I don't want to talk about such people.' Ranaut later clarified that her original comment was not directed at all protesters but at 'some people or some women' involved in the Jantar Mantar protest linked to the NEET-UG paper-leak issue. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both odishatv.in and news.abplive.com reported the story in a neutral straight-news style, focusing on the back-and-forth between Ranaut and Ramdev without endorsing either side. The coverage is uniform in its factual reporting: both outlets led with Ranaut's Instagram response, included Ramdev's critical remarks, and noted the Supreme Court context. The measured reading is that this is a personal spat between two public figures, with Ranaut using Ramdev's legal vulnerability to deflect his moral critique. What to watch next: whether either party escalates further or whether the underlying 'generation gutter' remark generates more political fallout. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - odishatv.in (neutral report) Straightforward factual reporting of the exchange without added commentary or slant. - news.abplive.com (neutral report) Straightforward news report with AI-generated key points verified by newsroom, no editorializing.
