# Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan’s fallout over film clash revealed 2026-10-28T16:38:03+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar revisited their fallout on the latest episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9, aired Wednesday, 28 October. The disagreement began when Varun scheduled his film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ on the same release date as Karan’s ‘Chand Mera Dil’. Karan said he was upset that Varun only mentioned it as a possibility, then confirmed the date. Varun stood by his remark calling Karan a ‘child’, which Karan said crossed a boundary in their friendship. Janhvi Kapoor revealed she gained 6 kg during the fallout. Varun eventually changed his film’s release date and helped reconcile the two by inviting Janhvi to Karan’s birthday party. Koffee With Karan Season 9 is the final season of the talk show. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Indiatvnews and Times Now provided neutral, straight reporting of the KWK 9 episode, using similar quotes and structure.
