# Karimnagar teen Naga Chaitra wins gold, silver, qualifies for CBSE Nationals 2026-08-20T23:36:43+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Ch. Naga Chaitra, a 16-year-old athlete from Akshara International School in Karimnagar, won gold in the 800m and silver in the 400m at the Open State-level CBSE Cluster VII Athletics Meet in Hyderabad. The performance secured her qualification for the CBSE Nationals. Chaitra had previously won a silver in the 4x400m relay at the School Games Federation State meet in the under-17 category, and another silver in the 1000m event at the 12th Telangana State youth athletics meet in Hanumakonda in the under-18 category, representing Karimnagar. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The CBSE Cluster athletics meets serve as a key feeder pipeline for school-level national competitions, with state-level qualifiers like this one selecting the strongest contenders. For a 16-year-old from a non-metro district such as Karimnagar, reaching the CBSE Nationals can open doors to sports scholarships and institutional support. The meet was conducted under the CBSE Sports Clusters framework, which groups schools by region to standardise competition. Naga Chaitra’s previous medals in the School Games Federation and Telangana State youth meets suggest consistent form. The CBSE Nationals, expected to be held later this academic year, will be her next test. ## Coverage - telanganatoday.com Straight report of results, no critical or favourable framing of any actor This story was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
