Dr Ayub Syed, a resident of Jatrat in Nipani, was visiting the viewpoint with nine colleagues when he crossed the safety railing, reportedly lost his balance and fell, the Deccan Chronicle reports. A local vendor alerted Syed's companions, and rescue teams were called. But heavy rain, dense fog and darkness stopped the search overnight. The Sahyadri Adventure Rescue Group and police resumed at 6 am on Wednesday and recovered the body.
