The Hans India reports that residents allegedly stripped him, tied him to an electric pole and beat him after accusing him of damaging lighting on a signboard bearing Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s portrait. Police registered cases against the youth under Sections 299 and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The court was also told that a Superintendent of Police allegedly threatened him with externment and repeated FIRs.
