# Karnataka seals Zepto warehouse in Bengaluru over hygiene violations

Karnataka's food safety department sealed a Zepto warehouse in Bengaluru's Hoskote on Tuesday after an inspection found unhygienic food, misbranding, and improper storage and labelling. The facility, run in partnership with Nippon Express, was violating the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. A case has been recommended against the unit. Separately, Maharashtra FDA suspended the licence of a Blinkit facility in Malad West, Mumbai, after finding cockroach infestation, expired goods, and poor pest control. Zepto said it is cooperating and strengthening processes. The actions come as regulators widen enforcement from restaurants to food storage and distribution centres used by quick commerce firms.
