Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has reportedly met astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vetrivel, known as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay's personal astrologer, at her residence. Telugu360 reports that the meeting draws attention because Kavitha has repeatedly referenced Vijay's political success since his TVK won the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, using the slogan 'TVK there, TRS here' to project her party as a similar new force in Telangana. Vetrivel was appointed Officer on Special Duty to Vijay after the election and later removed. Greatandhra reports that Kavitha sought astrological guidance on her party's future amid concerns over limited traction, financial constraints, and lack of major political leaders joining. According to the outlet, Vetrivel advised Kavitha to consider dropping her maiden surname 'Kalvakuntla', associated with her father, former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and adopt 'Kavitha' or 'Kavitha D'. The astrologer reportedly examined her horoscope, finding her 10th house strong but ninth house problematic, and advised that a major political breakthrough would require considerable effort over two years.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Telugu360 frames the meeting as a politically strategic move linking Kavitha to Vijay's successful model, emphasising her slogan and independent political agenda. Greatandhra frames it as a sign of weakness, highlighting the party's struggles and the advice to drop the Kalvakuntla surname, which carries KCR's legacy. Neither source confirms the meeting from Kavitha's side. The difference is clear: one sees ambition, the other desperation. The careful reader should note that both sources agree on the meeting's fact but interpret its meaning oppositely. What to watch: whether Kavitha publicly changes her name or distances from the Kalvakuntla surname in coming weeks.
