AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Thursday that Meta had restricted his account in India without giving a reason. Sources differ on the platform: India Today and Times of India reported an Instagram restriction, while LiveMint reported Facebook. Kejriwal shared a status screenshot saying the account was “unavailable in some locations” and criticised Meta on X, alleging political pressure and asking it not to bow to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meta had not publicly responded to the allegation. India Today said Kejriwal’s Instagram and Facebook accounts remained accessible in India when it published its report. LiveMint later confirmed access to both accounts. The claim followed Meta’s apology for briefly restricting a video posted by Modi, which the company attributed to an error.
