AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has accused Meta of restricting one of his accounts in India, saying the company gave no reason or remedy. Medianama reports that his Facebook and Instagram accounts were accessible when checked, while Meta had not publicly responded. Reports differ on which account was affected. The allegation followed Meta’s apology to the government for mistakenly removing a July 23 Facebook video by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Hindu reports that Parliament’s IT committee gave Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg three days to apologise or risk losing safe-harbour protection. Legal experts cited by the paper said such protection is not automatically removable across an entire platform and disputes would generally require court action.
