# Kerala allows ITI, diploma holders into degree courses without Plus Two

Kerala will allow candidates with ITI certificates or three-year polytechnic diplomas to enter undergraduate programmes without passing Plus Two, Minister Roji M. John said on Thursday. The decision follows a recommendation from the Kerala State Higher Education Council and uses the University Grants Commission’s National Credit Framework. ITI holders can join the first year of a four-year degree course after Class 10, but must complete the prescribed language course. Polytechnic diploma holders can enter the second year through lateral entry. The Higher Education department issued the order following the minister’s directive.
