# Kerala lottery announces Rs 1 crore winners for BT-68 and KN-638 draws 2026-08-24T10:57:26+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet (2 source reports) The Kerala State Lotteries Department announced results for two draws this week. The Bhagyathara BT-68 draw held on Monday, August 24, awarded a Rs 1 crore first prize to ticket BW 585405. The Karunya Plus KN-638 draw held on Thursday, August 27, also gave Rs 1 crore to the first prize winner, with the winning number yet to be listed in the live update. Second prizes in both draws are Rs 30 lakh, third prizes Rs 5 lakh, and consolation prizes Rs 5,000. Winners must submit original tickets and photo ID to the District Lottery Office or a nationalised bank within 30 days. The full list of winning numbers is available on the official Kerala Lotteries website and in the Kerala Government Gazette. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Most coverage is identical wire-style reporting of two separate lottery draws held days apart. Mathrubhumi's treatment is uniform: it lists winning numbers and prize mechanics without framing either draw as more newsworthy. The only editorial signal is the choice of which draw gets a top-of-page headline: the story carrying the live result (BT-68) is presented as a continuous update, while the KN-638 result is a static announcement. Both stories are pure information delivery. The absence of any investigation into winners or ticket sales means the coverage serves only as a public-service record. Readers should verify their tickets against the official gazette within 30 days to lodge a claim. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - english.mathrubhumi.com (neutral report) straight factual listing of winning numbers with public-service disclaimers - english.mathrubhumi.com (2) (neutral report) identical factual listing of winning numbers with same disclaimers This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
