Satheesan released literary critic M. Leelavathi’s new book Bharathalokam at her residence in Thrikkakara, Kochi, on Wednesday. The 98-year-old author offers her own critical interpretation of characters and episodes from the Mahabharata. Satheesan, who has read her works since his student days, said such a critical work on the epic is rare. Leelavathi said the Mahabharata conveys a strong anti-war message, noting that Vedavyasa’s call for peace went unheeded. “War destroys everything,” she said. The Chief Minister handed the first copy to critic N.E. Sudheer. Ministers V.E.
