# Kerala gets first Dolby Cinema at Fort Kochi 2026-10-20T05:41:28+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets Kerala’s first Dolby Cinema opened on Saturday, 17 October 2026 at EVM Cinemas in Chulikkal, Fort Kochi. The 450-seat auditorium combines Dolby Vision projection and Dolby Atmos sound, with a wall-to-wall-to-ceiling screen and engineered acoustics. It is the fifth Dolby Cinema in India. Friedrich Deininger, Senior Director for Cinema and Partner Management at Dolby Laboratories told local media, saying the experience is built around preserving the creator’s intent. The system supports 4K laser projection with a claimed 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 64-channel Atmos. The theatre is set to open to the public soon, ticket pricing has not yet been announced. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The three outlets report the same launch with near-identical technical details and quotes from Friedrich Deininger. Economic Times leads with a question about premium pricing, Onmanorama emphasises the ‘transformative’ feeling of the experience, and TrackTollywood highlights the Christie H4D3 4K laser projector and 64-channel Atmos spec. None of the sources adopt a pro-government or critical stance: all three are neutral reports on a commercial launch. The coverage is uniform straight reporting. The only open question, common to all three, is whether the enhanced experience will justify the still-unannounced ticket price. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 3 neutral - economictimes.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Leads with a headline question on premium pricing - onmanorama.com (neutral report) Focuses on immersive experience and emotional impact - tracktollywood.com (neutral report) Emphasises Christie projector and 64-channel Atmos specs This brief was synthesised by AI from the 3 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
