# Kerala gears up for Karkkidaka Vavu Bali with special services

Thiruvananthapuram is ready for the annual Karkkidaka Vavu Bali ritual on August 12. The health department has set up ambulances, medical teams, and a 24-hour control room at major centres like Thiruvallam, Varkala, and Aruvikkara. The Travancore Devaswom Board has launched online booking for slots at the Sree Parasurama Swamy Temple in Thiruvallam. KSRTC will run 100 special buses from 2 am on August 12, up from 62 last year, connecting 13 balitharpanam sites across Kerala. Kochi Metro will extend night and early-morning services on August 11 and 12 to help pilgrims reach Aluva Manappuram. Both transport bodies worked with ministers and police to manage the expected heavy rush.
