# TG Mohandas arrested over remarks on Delhi NEET protest

Kerala Police on Monday formally arrested right-wing commentator TG Mohandas for remarks made in a YouTube video about the NEET protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. He was taken into custody from his Kochi home on Sunday and brought to the Thiruvananthapuram cyber crime police station. The Hindu reports that the RSS distanced itself from his comments, calling them personal views. Mohandas faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act and the Kerala Police Act for provocation to cause a riot and spreading fear. Police seized his digital devices and asked social media platforms to remove the video. In the clip, Mohandas said he would impose a curfew and open fire on protesters, and claimed secular women at such protests enjoy being gangraped. Student unions had complained against him.
