# KFDC to launch ‘Athma’ tea, coffee from its plantations

Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) will sell tea and coffee from its own plantations under the brand name 'Athma'. The products will reach shops in September, said Mananthavady Divisional Manager Sajeer K.V. They will be marketed under KFDC's existing Vanopahar brand. This is KFDC's first foray into tea. The tea is from KFDC's Mananthavady plantation, while coffee comes from Nelliyampathy, Munnar and Gavi. Forest Minister Shibu Baby John had invited public suggestions for the name, which was finalised after expert consultations.
